Our history: Innovating the innovation business
Visualize, Inc. was founded in 1997 out of a desire to be a different kind of product development consultancy. We quickly grew into one of the largest and most trusted product development firms in the midwest. We’re successful, we think, because of two key things: our approach, and our company structure.
Our approach: Uncomplexification
We think that in most cases just adding features is a step in the wrong direction. Instead, we look for ways to add benefits and value. What are the unmet needs? How can we satisfy them? How can we simplify the whole process of developing this product? Because we’re always trying to find the simplest, most essential solutions, everything we do is driven by research. Assumptions and gut reactions are not good enough. Even if we’re only working on one aspect of a client’s project, we always do our homework.

We’ve taken down the barriers between the different disciplines that make up the work we do. We don’t have departments. Our electrical engineers are only a few desks over from our industrial designers. But we don’t all share one giant office either. We’ve built an integrated, multi-disciplinary team of professional experts in each of our four core cities — Madison, Milwaukee, Minneapolis and Chicago. This lets us work locally with our clients, but retain the talent resources of a much larger company. This keeps us lean and agile, and lets us easily grow into new markets where our services are most needed. The flexibility of our structure and the talent diversity of our people allows us to deliver exceptional product solutions quickly and accurately.
